Bigg Digital Assets (BIGG.C) to give cryptocurrency investor courses to the U.S. Army

Bigg Digital Assets (BIGG.C) has partnered with training and consulting firm, ERUdyne, to offer a Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator (CCI) course to U.S. Army personnel.

The CCI is an online training program for law enforcement, intelligence analysts, legal, accounting, anti-money laundering and others involved in combating financial crime using crypto. It’s five modules and includes topics like crypto 101, the origins of bitcoin, the dark web, and how criminals use crypto as well as crypto forensics.

“Men and women in uniform from the Army, Army Reserve and the National Guard, are on the front lines of protecting the U.S. from all threats, including threats to our financial system for illicit purposes. I had the opportunity as a U.S. federal law enforcement officer to work alongside members of the military to gather intelligence to follow the money and combat international narcotics traffickers, narco-terrorist financiers and money launderers. The new battlefield is cyber and cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and ethereum are the supply lines. This training will enhance the soldier’s knowledge about cryptocurrency and provide them with the tools they need to combat this threat,” said William Callahan, director of government and strategic affairs for Blockchain Intelligence Group.

This is one of the many services that Bigg Digital provides and while it’s not their chief moneymaker (that would likely be either their subsidiary Netcoins, or maybe Blockchain Intelligence Group’s Qlue) it’s definitely an avenue towards unloading a few of these programs into even more government contracts. They’re essentially a company that’s devoted to cleaning up the crypto-space, and they aim their investments towards fulfilling this goal.

The training modules include anti-money laundering techniques, federal law enforcement and regulatory efforts related to crypto, and as a how to for dealing with illegal uses. The training was developed specifically for Army COOL, but will include hands-on training and practical exercises using forensics software from Blockchain Intelligence Group. Specifically, BitRank Verified and Qlue.

BitRank gives banks and other virtual asset service providers the ability to do real-time transaction monitoring and risk scoring to quickly clear low-risk transactions and investigate high-risk ones. While Qlue is their blockchain search and analytics engine designed to help law enforcement, regulatory technology (regtech), regulators and other government agencies to track, trace and monitor transactions on various blockchains.

That’s right. Most blockchains aren’t half as private as you think they are. They’re actually quite the opposite.

“We are pleased to partner with Block Intelligence Group to provide this training that supports the Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator credential in Army COOL,” said Suzanne Novak, president of ERUdyne. “This training enhances the soldier’s skills while serving and will increase their overall employability upon separating from the Army in a new and growing field.”

The CCI credential is now listed in the Army Credentialing Opportunities On-Line (COOL) and will receive funding from the U.S. Army Credentialing Assistance (CA) program.
