Enthusiast Gaming (EGLX.T) and NFT marketplace, Fractal, outfit browser game

Enthusiast Gaming Holdings (EGLX.T) has teamed up today with NFT marketplace, Fractal, to offer customization options for their new game launch.

Fractal is the brainchild of Justin Kan, the co-founder of Twitch, and will offer specific NFTs that offer skin cosmetics and custom digital real estate options on the Hut 8 sponsored game, EV.IO. If you already come to the game with your own cosmetics, you’ll get whitelist tokens to mint NFTs as a reward for early adopters.

“Fractal’s marketplace allows us to launch NFTs that will improve the gameplay experience within EV.IO, building on the content integration with Hut 8. We are excited to build a better gameplay experience for our community and to be taking this important step into Web 3.0 with industry pioneers like Justin Kan and the team at Fractal,” said Adrian Montgomery, chief executive officer of Enthusiast Gaming.

First. Is this that Hut 8, as in Hut 8 Mining (HUT.T)? Yes. Yes it is. The cryptocurrency miner got involved with EGLX earlier this month as a sponsor, and EV.IO is the first game they’re helping push out. The game is due in April.

Since we haven’t covered it yet in the story, EV.IO is a multiplayer first-person shooter set in a futuristic world. The game involves tactical level designs similar to Halo, Destiny and Quake. It’s a browser-based game made for low-end machines, so if your computer isn’t exactly top shelf, you can likely still play if you’re so inclined.

“NFTs are better for gamers, allowing them to have true ownership of the assets they buy and earn in-game gives them participation in the potential growth of a game. We are very excited about the possibilities ahead for Fractal and EV.IO,” said Kan.

You also don’t need to get NFTs if you don’t want, or can’t afford, too. They’re present for customization.
